Whitney Group Hires Manfield to Head European Asset Management Practice

London, January 03, 2005

As it continues to expand its global executive search firm in financial services, Whitney Group has hired Chris Manfield as director and head of its European Asset Management practice.

Mr. Manfield joins Whitney's London office from Odgers Ray & Berndtson, where he led the firm's investment management practice. He previously held positions at Berwick Group and Whitehead Mann GKR.

"The depth of Chris's expertise is proving invaluable to our asset management practice," says Tom Seaden, managing director and head of Whitney's European operations. "His hire plays a key role in the continuing growth of Whitney's London office."

In addition to conducting high-level searches, Mr. Manfield organizes roundtable discussions for leaders in the asset management industry. The first one, scheduled for April 13, will cover such topics as: the future of hedge funds; evolving business models; and dealing with mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures in asset management.

Mr. Manfield began his career at a West End firm of solicitors and represented clients in Employment Law Tribunals. Since joining the executive search industry in 1994, he has worked on assignments in investment banking, private banking and fund management.

After completing the CPE, Mr. Manfield attended the Inns of Court School of Law, becoming a member of the Inner Temple. He also holds a degree in Spanish and Latin American studies from University College London.
