April 11, 2005
Whitney Group,
a global executive search firm serving the financial services industry, has
significantly expanded the research departments in its New York, London and
Hong Kong offices.
In New York,
Whitney promoted search consultant Rhona Gibson to Director and head of the
Research & Execution team. The firm also added Ann Perry and J. Suzanne
McCoy to the New York team. Ms. Perry provides research in global banking
and global markets, while Ms. McCoy writes articles and whitepapers covering
the latest trends in investment banking, global markets, finance, and asset
management.
Ms. Gibson will
continue to originate and execute searches for Whitney clients, and will maintain
her role as head of the firm's diversity research and recruitment assignments.
Combined with
Ms. Gibson's promotion, these research hires represent Whitney's continuing
commitment to delivering the most relevant competitive intelligence to the
firm's consultants and clients.
"Research
and market intelligence is a cornerstone of our search process. The excellence
of our global Research & Execution team sets Whitney apart from other
search firms," says Gary Goldstein, president and chief executive officer
of Whitney Group. "The depth of Rhona's experience makes her an ideal
leader for our New York research team. We're delighted that she's assumed
this expanded role."
Ms. Gibson joined
Whitney in 1999 and has conducted searches throughout investment banking,
including corporate finance, M&A, equities and fixed income. She has also
developed an expertise in structured products. Given her experience as a search
consultant, Ms. Gibson is uniquely qualified to oversee the research efforts
in Whitney's New York office.
With her team
of three researchers, Ms. Gibson ensures that Whitney consultants stay on
the cutting edge of product trends and market developments. Her team delivers
customized knowledge for each search assignment, giving Whitney clients a
competitive advantage and the ability to choose the very best candidate.
Ms. Gibson was
formerly a Vice President at Utendahl Capital Partners in Convertible Sales,
and an Associate in Private Client Services at Morgan Stanley. She holds an
MBA from Stanford University and a BA in applied mathematics and economics
with honors from Brown University. Prior to attending business school, Ms.
Gibson was an Analyst in Mortgage Finance at Goldman Sachs.
Ms. Perry also
brings experience as a search professional to her role as a researcher. Prior
to joining Whitney, Ms. Perry was the director of recruitment and research
at Koren, Rogers Associates in White Plains, NY. With a BA in History-Sociology
from Columbia University, Ms. Perry is currently pursuing her MBA at Baruch
University's Zicklin School of Business.
