Whitney Group Hires Financial Journalist to Expand Research & Execution

March 07, 2005

Whitney Group, a global executive search firm serving the financial services industry, has hired financial journalist J. Suzanne McCoy to write research notes and white papers about emerging market trends. Ms. McCoy's hire is part of a larger initiative at Whitney to expand the firm's global research and execution capabilities.

In the newly created role at Whitney, Ms. McCoy writes trend articles in global markets, finance, investment banking and asset management. Her writing keeps Whitney consultants and clients at the forefront of market movements and product developments.

Ms. McCoy reports to Rhona Gibson, whom Whitney recently promoted to Director and head of Research & Execution. As part of Ms. Gibson's team, Ms. McCoy contributes to the firm's global research efforts by customizing market intelligence to meet Whitney clients' needs. Ms. Gibson was promoted following six years' experience as a search consultant at Whitney, a role she maintains in her new position.

"By bringing a journalist on staff, we've further leveraged the excellence of our global research capabilities," says Gary Goldstein, president and chief executive officer of Whitney Group. "With Suzanne's writing, we have yet another way to build our market intelligence and serve our clients."

Prior to joining Whitney, Ms. McCoy covered the asset management industry for Money-Media's Ignites and RunningMoney. She has also written about markets and politics for such publications as The New York Times and The Seattle Times.

Ms. McCoy holds an MS degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. As an undergraduate, she earned degrees in Journalism and English Literature from the University of Washington, Seattle.
